Picture this: Vibrant seniors, who once immigrated to Canada with boundless dreams, now face social isolation and a heightened risk of dementia.
But here’s the good news: we can bridge that gap and empower them! Through Hope for Dementia’s innovative Intergenerational Learning Program, we connect these amazing seniors with culturally diverse youth volunteers.
This program provides a beautiful two-way street. Our tech-savvy youth volunteers patiently guide seniors through the wonders of the digital world, fostering connection and mental stimulation. In return, these wise elders share their rich life stories and cultural heritage, forging meaningful bonds with young people who share their roots.
July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s celebrate the power of connection! Support Hope for Dementia’s Intergenerational Program and be part of the solution. Together, we can break down stigma and build a brighter future for all.
