Reducing the number of persons diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and other neurocognitive disorders is the first of five pillars of the Québec Policy on Alzheimer’s Disease, announced on 25 February 2025.
Thank you to Mme Sonia Bélanger, Minister responsible for seniors, Québec, who gave an insightful interview on the prevention of dementia in the new policy. The interview was in French and was broadcast on 98.5 FM on Sunday 2 March.

Research shows that prevention is possible with early intervention to reduce the risks of dementia. Hope for Dementia has been advocating and providing services to reduce the rate of growth in dementia diagnoses.
