A song can revive a forgotten memory. A melody can bring back a smile. A simple chorus can reconnect us with the people we love. Across cultures, languages, and generations, music remains what brings us together where illness can sometimes create distance…
Songs and Stories, a series of community activities organized by Hope for Dementia, recently ended on a high note!
Launched in three residences in Montreal, the series of activities highlighted Rob Lutes, author-composer-musician renowned for his warm approach and inspiring songs, which explore memory, resilience and hope. Rob sang well-known, entertaining songs from the past, while telling the fascinating stories behind them. The participants were invited to sing, tap their feet or clap their hands to the rhythm of the music.
Thanks to the Réseau des Éclaireurs et Éclaireuses, CIUSSS Montréal North for the financial support for this project.
