CBC Radio’ show Let’s Go hosted by Sabrina Marandola was kind to have us on the air on July 14, 2020 to talk about the importance of not forgetting our elders during the pandemic.
The biggest issue with the elderly is isolation and the COVID-19 pandemic has just made it much more difficult for them. The lack of familiar faces and who they see on a regular basis are reduced significantly in their lives. Before the pandemic, our elderly were able to see certain family and friends which would jog their memory, these interactions helped them a lot.
Hope for Dementia has always advocated to prevent isolation and reduce loneliness and we hope the #JustConnect movement will inspire others to take 5 minutes of their day to reach out to senior and elder family members and friends!
