🧠 Mental Health Week: Taking care of your mind also means preventing dementia 💚
From May 5 to 11, Mental Health Week reminds us of the importance of preserving our mental well-being at all ages. At Hope for Dementia, we firmly believe that mental health is an essential component of brain health and the prevention of cognitive disorders.
🌿 A healthy mind for a healthy brain
Social isolation, chronic stress and lack of stimulation can accelerate cognitive decline. Conversely, positive lifestyle habits such as a balanced diet, physical activity, intellectual stimulation and enriching social relationships help preserve mental capacity and improve quality of life.
✨ Our actions to support seniors’ mental health
At Hope for Dementia, we implement concrete programs to support seniors’ mental and cognitive well-being:
✅ Intergenerational learning program – Creating links between generations to break isolation and stimulate memory
✅ Busy Box. Better Brain. – Encouraging creativity and lifelong learning to stimulate the brain
✅ Mindful eating for a healthy mind – Healthy eating also means nourishing your spirits. By learning better eating habits, participants experience a boost in energy and emotional stability.
✅ Move for a healthy mind – Regular exercise improves mood, promotes better sleep and helps reduce stress. By getting moving, seniors activate natural wellness mechanisms that bring energy, emotional balance and a sense of well-being to everyday life.
📣 Together, let’s improve mental health to prevent dementia!
