Water, essential for seniors’ brain health
Did you know that proper hydration plays a key role in maintaining cognitive function? On this World Water Day, Hope for Dementia would like to raise awareness of the importance of water in preserving the brain health of seniors.
Water, an ally of the brain
The brain is made up of almost 75% water. Even mild dehydration can lead to memory and concentration problems and increase the risk of confusion in the elderly.
🔹 Why is water essential for the brain?
✅ It promotes blood circulation and oxygen supply to the brain.
✅ It helps eliminate toxins that can contribute to cognitive decline.
✅ It improves concentration, memory and mental well-being.
Let’s encourage our seniors to drink regularly and adopt hydrating habits to preserve their mental health! 💙
Good habits for optimal hydration
Adopting a hydration routine can help prevent dementia :

🥗 Favoring water-rich foods (fruits, vegetables, soups).
🚫 Limit consumption of caffeine and alcohol, which dehydrate.
