Hope for Dementia is extremely pleased to announce that it has been selected as the charity to benefit from the Echelon Foundation’s Impact Day 2023.
Created in 2018 by the management of financial services firm Echelon Wealth Partners, the Echelon Foundation raises funds for charitable organizations.
Echelon Wealth Partners’ employees nominate charities to receive funds raised on the Foundation’s Impact Day. The charities’ submissions are shortlisted by a review committee. Employees are asked to vote for the charity of their choice to be the recipient of Impact Day fundraising.
We are grateful to Mr. Isaac Márquez Santillán, Senior Director, Information Technology at Echelon Wealth Partners for nominating Hope for Dementia.
The funds raised will expand Hope for Dementia’s “Healthy Food. Healthy Brain.” food basket distribution program, by providing vulnerable seniors at risk of dementia with brain-healthy food on a more regular basis.
In addition, Hope for Dementia will use a portion of these funds for related research into the benefits and impacts of the program.
By partnering with Echelon Foundation, Hope for Dementia will amplify its mission throughout Canada, to safeguard healthy brains in our aging population, promote dementia prevention awareness and education and provide risk mitigation programs.
Poor nutrition is a modifiable risk of dementia, which researchers say can reduce the incidence of dementia by up to 40%. Maintaining a healthy and balanced diet is one way to help reduce the risk of dementia. The “Healthy Food. Healthy Brain.” program not only provides people with healthy and complete meals, but also educates them on the importance of eating healthy food for a healthy brain.
The Healthy Food. Healthy Brain. program will contribute to the reduction of many avoidable health problems that put a strain on the healthcare system.
Echelon Foundation’s Impact Day will take place on 5 October 2023. All Echelon Wealth Partners’ offices across Canada will participate in fundraising and promotional activities for Hope for Dementia.
We cordially invite you to join the fight against dementia and other mental health issues.
